Joint statement on situation with Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council – Gerald Jones MP and Dawn Bowden AM

We note that the Minister for Housing and Local Government has issued a written statement regarding additional support being offered to Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. You can read the Minister’s statement here, and the report upon which her decisions are based here.

As before our overriding priority is to ensure the citizens of this Borough receive safe and sustainable services. It is clear that a range of actions are required on the part of the local council for this to be achieved.
