A group of parents of children at Idris Davies School in Abertysswg recently launched their new children’s book.

The book, which was written by parents in connection with the Parent Network Group, is focussed on transition and change, as a subject many of the pupils and parents experienced during the amalgamation of the three schools to create Idris Davies School.

The event was held at the school and saw a number of parents, teachers, students and other local representatives attend, with all pupils receiving a copy of the book.

Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney MP, Gerald Jones, who was one of the guests the event, praised the innovation:

“Change is one of a few constants in life and the amalgamation of the three schools into Idris Davies School certainly was big deal. The creativity of the parents and the Parent Network Group in creating this book was excellent and I am sure will go some way to helping equip and teach many children the essential life skills they need to be able to adapt to change.”
