After a competitive game between Merthyr police officers and a local team, to congratulate them on their victory, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney MP presented the ‘Merthyr Community Cup’ to the winning players.

The match, hosted by South Wales Police Representative Work Force Officers, saw local police officers play against a local Portuguese/Polish team in Penydarren Park.

Also at the game were officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Teams, Community Safety Officers and Police Youth Volunteers.

“I really enjoyed to be able to watch the game with so many others and I was pleased to present the winners with their award.

 

“It’s events like these that bring everyone together and shows the strength of the community spirit that’s very much alive in our area.”
