Free Tour of Parliament
The history of the Houses of Parliament spans over 900 years from the Anglo-Saxons to the present day.
You can find out more about this iconic building and its role in our modern democracy with a free, guided tour.
My office can arrange free tours for UK residents. Dates can be booked up to six months in advance and early booking is recommended.
During this 75-minute tour, your guide will:
- explain the work of the UK Parliament and its relevance today
- outline how the working spaces you visit on the tour are used
- set out ways you can get involved and engage with the democratic process
- highlight some of the dramatic history of the Palace of Westminster
The Visitor Tour Route includes the Chambers of both Houses, the State Rooms in the House of Lords, Central Lobby, St Stephen’s Hall and Westminster Hall. When the Houses are sitting, the full tour route may not always be available and can be subject to last minute changes or cancellation due to parliamentary business.
Tours are not available on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays, or on the day of some ceremonial events. Other closures may be announced at short notice due to parliamentary business.
